Beautiful Beasties – Project 52 – Play (30/52)

Beautiful Beasties is an international network of professional pet photographers, of which I am very privileged to be a part of. Within the network a group was formed for photographers who wanted to participate in a project, a 52 week project. Each week a theme is chosen and posted, then we all go out and take a photograph or series of photographs to fit the theme, then we all post onto our own websites and form a ring by linking all the websites. That means you can look at my images and then follow the links all over the world to see what other pet photographers are capturing.

The theme for week 30 is “Play” – this theme was open to our own interoperation.
This week I photographed 5 rescue dogs for Puppy Love Rescue, all these lucky dogs are staying at Pet Resorts Australia – Terrigal while they wait for their forever homes. I took the Kelpie girls with me, so in the exercise yard there were 7 dogs, yes thats right 7.
This seemed a great opportunity to get this weeks theme shots for “Play”
The following series is “Dogs At Play”

They start off with a meet and greet, then there are some invitations to play, some dogs pair off and do their own thing.
And then….the fun REALLY starts….

No one can catch Milly Kelpie, unless she wants them too:)

Then there might be some down time, before the chasing begins again, but for some it’s just all too much and a snooze in the sun is required…

I just love seeing dogs getting the chance to, well, to be dogs – and do what dogs love to do, run, chase, rest, rumble and get lots of cuddles in between:)My Kelpie girls had a blast and I am sure they look forward to our next visit to the Pet Resort.
Now don’t forget this is a blog ring, so follow the links to what kind of “Play” the other Pet Photographers have captured this week, starting off with Nashville Pet Photographer, Kelly Coyle.

These are fantastic examples of dogs being dogs. I love the last photo showing the aftermath of too much playing!

I absolutely LOVE watching dogs play and trying to capture the moments. Well done Sharon!
